People sometimes dies from the trunk falling back down. This can happen if the decomposition of the tree has come far enough or the forces eventually make the tree snap.

Natural decomposition caused fatalities may be possible, but seem very unlikely compared to other risks…This is probably true. That treeworkers make up the vast majority of casualties seem more than reaonable.
