This Reuters story was published in 2023. For a reason I don’t understand, it had little impact. Basically, car buyers don’t pay attention to these kind of things.

I also blame the drivers, as they chose to trust Elon Musk when they bought those cars. Yuge mistake.

I’m convinced Tesla’s are, far and away, the least safe cars on the road. By a huge margin. We keep hearing stories about people dying because they can’t open the door without power. The odometer uses a “predictive algorithm” rather than actual miles driven. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2025/04/tesla-makes-its-cars-lie-about-their-mileage-lawsuit-claims/

This is a company that doesn’t mind lying at every turn. They’re lying about safety. They lie about earnings. What aren’t they lying about?

Uber and Lyft need to make it so I can request to not have a Tesla. I don’t feel safe in them.

Cybertrucks are illegal here in the UK because they are too unsafe. EU too, i think.

Also consider that they are unsafe because of their weight. Not for the driver or passengers, but for people in the other car in a crash. Teslas being so heavy have way more kinetic energy at “low speed” crashes compared to regular cars, and at higher speeds its not even a competition. The people in the other car will be lucky to survive a crash.

Is the reason this has 350+ upvotes and not comments because everyone’s going “Yeah no shit”?

    Doesn’t every manufacturer do that?
