Perhaps we could even be the payment processor to make it convenient for everyone, almost like a virtual game store
Hey cmon they stopped letting me take the mart cart into the parking lot after I left one in the rain last time and I don’t wanna walk with my groceries in a WAGON what am I, that Greek guy with the rock? Sissy fist?
4am@lemmy.zipto Showerthoughts•If CEOs think they can replace everyone with AI, why do they think Wall St. will need CEOs?31·1 day agoI doubt that an LLM would do very well, but other forms of ML (like a model trained to work in business rules and economic outcomes rather than stringing words together) could probably be used. Hell, they probably won’t need to use the planet-destroying mega data canters to do it; some very effective specialized ML models can be run on a Raspberry Pi.
The biggest problem with AI is they’re convincing people it can think and replace workers by using extremely large language models trained on stolen works provided as cloud services asking for exorbitant subscription fees. It’s a mechanical Turk designed to empty your wallet; to siphon the value produced by workers away from companies into the one centralized service.
In other words, tech bros figured out how to take something useful and make a grift out of it, because you can get rich by gatekeeping something of value. Why do you think they went so far as to threaten to ban DeepSeek when a free model that can run on a desktop PC from a foreign “adversary” appeared? They all shit their collective pants because the jig was up.

Make the computer company be called “Claris” and the theater be called “AMC” (for “Apple Movie Cinemas” 😆)

Especially now that air holds more moisture since rising temperatures keep the atmosphere warmer and rain is less frequent.

America doesn’t need to push its preferences in places where the sentiment already aligns.
My post is that you you blame this on America you won’t think clearly about the actual issue, which is the sentiment of EU politicians and businesses and how they skew unduly in favor of harsh intellectual property restrictions.
She’s an empath, not a telepath. She can’t read your thoughts she can only feel your feelings.
Also, pretty sure she regularly does it between starships to the people who are on screen, which means you don’t even need to be in the same star system for her to feel you
4am@lemmy.zipto TechTakes@awful.systems•Do leaders even believe that generative AI is useful?English48·5 days agoIn the hands on an experienced coder, AI being used as an autocomplete, as a test suite for easy obvious bugs, etc is a time saver.
The big push for AI though is to sew doubt about physical evidence. “This document was faked by creating it with AI”, “This video is doctored by AI and is a deepfake”, etc.
Now they think have a machine that they can blame for evidence of their crimes. It was never about new tools for vibe coding.

Everything else looks normal though. Also polarized glass doesn’t make these effects, although polarization might be part of the effect those wacky glasses use.
