Both sticks were drifting and I pretty much had nothing to lose, so I thought I’d give this random idea a try.
I had 70% IPA lying around and that’s what I used, but 99% should technically be better as there’s less water in it.
I used about half a teaspoon’s worth, pouring it around the sticks in the gap. I moved the sticks around with my thumbs to ensure complete coverage, then let it sit for a few hours to let it dry.
Checked it right now and the drift is pretty much gone now. I can always tweak deadzone settings for the extremely minuscule drift that remains, but I’m happy.
I don’t need to invest $75 in another Dualsense or purchase soldering tools + hall effect joysticks for the time being.
