Windows 11 repeatedly promoting Edge, Onedrive and Phone link annoyed me. There must be a “Don’t remind me again.” checkbox.
Firefox has been reliable. Brave seems 👍. I haven’t wanted Edge as my main.
I already have a Onedrive account. It was reliable.
I haven’t wanted to use Phone link.
Part of the reason I switched to Ubuntu. I remember having some third-party installer that nuked the Edge stuff, but still nothing could be done about links within Windows itself being opened in Edge.
OD I had to have because I needed it for my work ODfB, there was no way to have just the work OD and no personal OD without getting the bullshit; all or nothing.
Phone, I didn’t notice.
Before clearing things out, go into Task Manager > Startup and disable everything you don’t want. Much of the harassment relies on the application/service being run on login first. It’s normal to have like 30 items in there, but only 5 or 6 enabled.
Or, yeah, just bail on Windows. Especially if you’re just a normal gamer/browser and want an OS setup just for doing what you do and nothing else. No bloat, no bullshit, just click the thing and the thing starts doing thing things.
