I feel like AI fucked up the job market, but not in the “AI took you jobs” way, but I’ve read at least one article where a staffing company was bombarding everyone with low-quality AI spam applications to convince companies they can’t find anyone good and they need staffing companies. Same thing on the other side, lots of AI filtering on job applications, and also companies sometimes leave job ads up even if not hiring to “keep tabs on the market” and have HR departments keep doing something during hiring freezes.
Oh, I’ve had to talk to the same ai chatbot about 10 times. Questions that could’ve just been on a normal application. “How old are you?” “Are you a sex offender?” Just yes and no questions.

The next DNC platform should include strong regulations on AI in general but also specifically job postings and their use of it. Enough of this crap.
The EU already has this, but I wonder how many places are breaking the law
