          Since the US is so new at going full fascist, it’s in a unique position where a former leader has government supplied protection. Also since it’s so new there are probably Secret Service agents who still believe in the rule of law and support Obama.

            I had read that the former president would be able to keep specific trusted people as their secret service detail, but looking it up now it seems like that may not be the case.

            At least not formally.

              No, looks like he rescinded the Secret Service security details for all his children, but not for Biden himself. Presumably there are strong enough protections for former presidents that he can’t do it by executive fiat. He did rescind the security clearance of all Democrat former presidents and vice presidents, though, because that’s something petty he could do.
