Synopsis: Two parents enter a race against time when they receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter after she caused a tragic car accident.
Review: An edge of the seat thriller for me. The film plays with our emotions and with superb dialogue and acting from the cast (of which there are only two) it cements its place as a one of the best horror thrillers I have ever watched.
I cannot understand the appeal of this one. To each their own, but the ending was preposterous and the Dad was driving SO slowly for someone in the middle of an obvious emergency.
The sound design also really grated me because the phone call was run through the obvious filter, but sound effects located on the other end of the call were mixed so they sounded like they were coming from inside the car.
It just felt like it never earned any of the stuff it was serving up.
I think the decision for slow driving is deliberate. >!At a point they stop at a signal at 3 in the morning with no other vehicle in the sight. Either they knew their daughter’s fate already or didn’t want to cause any more accidents. !<
