AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon confirms Western Australia will play Victoria in Perth next February in the first State of Origin match since 1999.

The AFL has announced the return of State of Origin football for the first time in 27 years.

AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon confirmed Western Australia would host Victoria at Perth Stadium on February 14 in a standalone exhibition game.

It will mark the first true state vs state AFL match played since 1999, when Victoria defeated South Australia at the MCG.
