Who uses voice for calls these days anyway?

Only voice calls I deal with are 98% scammers, the rest are because my health care company refuses to modernize that part of the ooeration

My bank occasionally uses calls as a third factor of sorts. There lots of other occasional use cases (e.g. sometimes it’s good that government service can call you directly).

I’ve never once had a government service call me. I can’t imagine a use case. And I’m carrying the upper end of the age bracket on Lemmy.

Government sends mail. Certified if it’s court.

I could see that being true in some places, but it you do need an actual mobile phone number where I lived for certain things (not only government services).
