I timed shifted this and it was looking like it was going to be a bad start to the day. Have come to really dislike the Geords, which wasn’t always the case. Very happy to break the drought. We were much better overall.

Fucking travesty of a decision on the Gyorkeres foul penalty decision. Pope clattered Viktor, and them claiming Pope got a shade of a touch on the ball before he took the player down is a joke. The ref should have gone with his instincts.

The fact they didn’t give Newcastle a penalty for Big Gabi’s arm (which would have been a bit of a dodgy call) shows that they felt some guilt about the earlier call.

Glad we didn’t need it though. That kind of performance to come back from behind at such a hostile ground and win it is the mark of champions. Great mental strength from the lads.
