No one should belong to any one, we are not slaves

I dunno I mean being married I feel this belong doesn’t necessarily imply ownership. Ie you hear the phrase “a sense of belonging” to be in one’s place. The circular nature of the statements; belonging to each other, would seem to nullify the concerns over a power imbalance.
