    Now pronounce worcestershire sauce.

    It’s also closer to a uh sound than an oo sound in the first syllable, and the er sound is shifted towards and ah sound, like chowdah

    Worcester is pronounced “Worce-ster” and because boston accent is non-rhotic (it drops “r”s a lot), “worce-ster” is typically pronounced similar to “woo-ster” in boston accent.
