This reminds me of when Bagong Hari was lost for decades because the disappointed producer chucked the master reel into the Pasig River. It was then discovered in a garage sale (a betamax recording).
Equally worse was the oft-told story of some other producer who mindlessly stored a lot of such master reels in their bathroom for years. I faintly recall and believe Burlesk Queen came from that damaged cache and restoration became a very painful process.
