I had massive hesitations about getting a dog, both from a climate and an animal welfare point of view. Even so, it was the best decision of my life and my furry friend has helped me through some very rough patches. His main food is kibble with chicken, as the least climate impactful meat source and he only gets an occasional snack with other meats (which are probably mostly meat waste products). It is impossible to live perfectly for the climate and environment and this is the one sin I will allow myself as it has such a positive impact on my life and wellbeing.
As a dog owner, this is something I’ve thought about, and while I should not need to justify my decision to have a dog, I would argue that because we have a dog, my partner and I take less flights, and opt for dog friendly travel holidays by train.
My dogs have caused fewer carbon emissions than someone with their pet-cum, many times over.
My dogs have always been rescue dogs, not some shitty designer oodle or inbred thing that can’t breathe
Why you making your dogs cum?
A dog causes as much carbon emissions as a car.
The dogs don’t contribute to the climate change. It is us. Buying shit we don’t need, using resources we don’t need, eating meat every day. Stop putting the blame on animals. We are the sole contributor to all of this.
I’m not sure if you’ve read the article, but neither myself nor the author of the article is blaming the animals.
