If they’re spending money on something that improves their life in some way from their perspective, and aren’t prioritising that over needed expenditure, while also not making anyone else’s life worse: who am I to judge?
That said, more luxury spending should be avoided if you’re paying a lot of interest on debt. Paying interest is wasteful given you’re not really getting anything tangible for the money, but it’s not a normal expense you can just cut (usually, look for 0% balance transfer options if they’re available to you). So work on minimising that expense as a priority, in order to limit how much you ultimately waste in the long run.
At a much grander scale, there is a lot of wasteful government expenditure I could go into around subsidising the fossil fuel industry and everything connected to it at the expense of our environment, but that’s probably getting off topic
Edit: typo
Yeah baked potato is just a solid lunch choice usually
Potatoes dauphinoise would have fit better

Without majority adoption this is just going to worsen the problem it’s posing.
Genuinely baffling choice of design

You’ve gotta tell me more about this country ketchup
Honestly for me yeah I prefer a bigger lunch and dinner weekdays usually.
I also skew kinda late with my meals, ideally breakfast about 10am, lunch between 1 & 2 and dinner I’m completely fine eating at 9pm and in summer actually prefer even later (heat just seems to kill my appetite for food)
Murphy’s law is that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong eventually
It did potentially originate from an aerospace engineer talking about safe plane design, but the law as everyone knows it is the one above.
Finagle’s law is an extension of Murphy’s law by replacing “eventually” with “at the worst possible moment”
Weetabix or weetos (though that’s a rare treat)
I’m just now realising the Weetabix company has my number
I don’t usually have cereal for breakfast though, usually just black coffee and maybe toast on a weekday and something a bit more extravagant like a fry up or salmon and cream cheese at the weekend
This meme really shouldn’t have had so many different geopolitically related variations in such a short time of it existing
The lib Dems and Tories decided to fuck over our youth back in the early 2010s
Lib Dems campaigned on a promise of free uni (it had gotten to about £3k a year at the time, up from the less than £1k a year the previous generation had got) then did the exact opposite and tripled the price when awarded the power to do something about it.
I can’t bring myself to ever trust a word they say again. And anyone that says the Tories stopped them, they were the only thing keeping the Tories in power, they were a VoNC away from potentially preventing 15 years of Tory kleptocracy and all the damage they caused (and that’s without going into how those Tory governments repeatedly normalised increasingly far-right positions)
At best they’re entirely useless at worst they’re just another shade of Tory
Brain wash or brain damage are the only ways people support right wing politics unless they’re fundamentally psychopathic people
Not all of us, some of us don’t have tiny miniatures and have to make do with a tilt shift lens!
(I sadly have neither… but one day…)
I’m kinda hoping the community backlash is just outposting the memes with other content, then everyone wins as Lemmy gets an activity spike
Is a yellow for simulation just a Premier League & UEFA thing then? I assumed most top flight leagues did this now
Miked up refs should have been a thing for years, it very obviously will reduce corruption. In rugby, anytime the ref is making a decision it’s all over the PA, plus you can get a little earpiece in the stadium to hear every single word they say
The best stuff at a cinema is rarely plastered all over the front, that’s just advertising for people who don’t really care about movies.
Also if your area is like mine, look for the smaller cinemas that screen the new oddities and forgotten classics
I’m curious, what toppings are you using?
I unironically rate a baked potato mid-to-high tier for potato. You’ve gotta make sure you cook it so the inside is fluffy and the skin starts to get crispy, then I always add a bit of butter, salt & pepper before the toppings
