Yeah, don’t know why the Pytnon stuff is in the Frameworks section. I just copy & pasted news.opensuse.org.

Linux@lemmy.ml•openSUSE Tumbleweed Monthly Update - MarchEnglish
2·2 years agoYes! 😁
Did the upgrade a few minutes ago. No problems so far and everything feels very smooth when it comes to animation, desktop effects etc.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Plasma 6 may arrive next week in openSUSEEnglish
2·2 years agoNo. Tumbleweed is a pure rolling release containing the latest “stable” versions of all software and is updated once Factory’s bleeding edge software has been integrated, stabilized and tested by openQA. So the stability comes before bleeding edge.
Hi Carlo, please don’t just write that a new video has been released, but perhaps also a small description (also in the title) of what kind of video it is. That makes it a lot easier to know what to expect 😉.

openSUSE@kbin.social•Quick and Dirty podman containerEnglish
1·2 years agoThanks for sharing. Very helpful. I really need to play around with podman container more. However, so far I haven’t had a real use case where I thought “Hey, a container would be the solution!” 🙂.

Linux@lemmy.ml•New KDE Slimbook V Linux Laptop: AMD 7840HS CPU, AMD 780M GPU, 16" WQXGA ScreenEnglish
5·2 years agoI am using Tuxedo laptops since a few years now and it was always a pleasure to use them. Slimbook and Tuxedo are using barebones from Tongfang and sometimes Clevo in different configuration. I guess the build quality is almost the same for both of them.

Linux@lemmy.ml•New KDE Slimbook V Linux Laptop: AMD 7840HS CPU, AMD 780M GPU, 16" WQXGA ScreenEnglish
6·2 years agoThere are lot’s of reasons not to do so, but the most important one is probably that Slimbook uses barebones from Tongfang. You can configure the barebones to some extend but mostly only screen resolution, cpu, gpu and cooling. The smaller things like USB ports are not as configurable as you might thing.

1·2 years agoThe installer looks very modern indeed. But as I said, I hope that it will ultimately offer the same configuration options as Yast. But you’re right, it’s definitely time for something new that is actively developed and proper maintained.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Contribution Sessions to Begin TomorrowEnglish
2·2 years agoYup, it’s as simple as that 🙂. That’s the beauty of Linux. If something doesn’t suit you, you have so many alternatives that you can try out.
I’m curious to see how the new installer feels and whether it’s really better than the old one.
