I miss it. I was also one of those weird kids that actually enjoyed/didn’t mind talking to the parents so 🤷. I also wish it was socially acceptable to have a phone as a portable PC and not as something that makes me available 24/7… but one should take care of their social links (BABYBABYBABY, inside joke for those who know), I’m just a bit of a hermit/grump, lol.

Platonic 1s and 0s are easier to process (even a computer can do it!) than the nebulous but realistic middle grounds. People are just dumb in general but now, with the decline of the West (I assume you’re on mostly Western sites and not VK or Nairaland, for instance), they’re also scared/emotionally compromised which clouds their judgment, so I guess this makes sense.

Americans take everything to the extreme, but BJ is repulsive, selfish, corrupt and immoral enough to hate. Trump is just the ugly but logical conclusion of American culture. 😔

Excess vanity is not a good look.

My wife says I can be arrogant, and she’s probably right… My mom said a long time ago I didn’t measure risk properly and that I had “always had a bit of a temper”, and she was definitely right but I didn’t realise it until my late 20s, as one often does. 😓

Because it simply isn’t, it isn’t aware of anything because such algorithm, if it can exist, hasn’t been created yet! It doesn’t “know” anything because the it we’re talking about is probabilistic code fed the internet and filtered through the awareness of actual human beings who update the code. If this were a movie, you’d know it too if you saw the POV of the LLM and the guy trying to trick you, making sure the text is human whenever it went too off the rails… but that’s already the reality we live in and it’s easily checked! You’re thinking of an actual AI, which perhaps could exist one day, but God knows. There is research that indicates consciousness to be a quantum process, and philosophically and mathematically it’s just non-computational (check Roger Penrose!), so we might still be a bit away from recreating consciousness. 🤷

If I can’t meet it and could only interact with it through a device, then I could be fooled, of course.
