Linux Gaming•Valve reportedly cooking native Linux version of Half-Life: Alyx, optimized for Steam Frame VREnglish
2·2 days agoHey, I would def play the Black Mesa version (of the og game, not blue shift) unless you really love that HL1 aesthetic or like things ‘untouched’ . No hate for the OG, I loved my first play-through, but I think the Black Mesa version is really good and mostly leaves things how they were but with more polish.
I agree with you on the rigidity of the gameplay, its kind of old school in that way. I was kind of jarred by it coming back after a decade and a bit. But it keeps putting down this… vibe, and keeps the gameplay constantly shifting, it payed of for me.

3·2 days agoWell, at least it stays safe to eat, even without refrigeration or getting salted like salted pork or beef from back in the day. You win some, you lose some (taste, joy in life maybe)
Damn all the negative bullshit is a real shame. I shared the info about this ROM hack with extra veracity in my circles in response to that, and now 3 new people who love being represented by those cool flags are happily trying it out. I’ll try myself later in the week, it looks really cool. Thanks for sharing it here.

3·3 days agoIn individuel numbers, how much do you think we’re talking here? 1 per follicle, what would that be couple 10k? More? Do they live peacefully with eyebrow mites or is there a nightly war at the edge?

Games•Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026]English
3·6 days agoI loved it on the Wii with attached nun-chuck, having my arms both facing out feels more comfortable then in, when sitting with a controller. Now you’ll have a full set of inputs to go with it, very cool!

7·7 days agoThe first time I held a deck I was kind of amazed at how comfortable it is to hold. Bricks shouldn’t be that comfy to hold, but, it is. The ergonomics are spot on. Gotta handle the Steam Controller V2 myself before any verdict, but I have high hopes.

1·7 days agoMaybe this is that much of a step away from the gore of real drone and other war footage, it enables a (large) new group of folks to ‘see the war’?
