The init system is the first thing that runs on boot and kind of allows other stuff to run. It’s not really something the average user needs to worry about.
Systemd is probably the most common init on Linux distros these days. Some people don’t like it. One reason is because it does a lot of things in addition to what traditional init systems do and that goes against the Unix philosophy (do one thing and do it well).
SysV, OpenRC, and runit are all more traditional init systems. I don’t really have experience with them.
Devuan is basically just Debian without systemd. It’s name is derived from Debian and VUA (Veteran Unix Admins, if I remember correctly).
Debian is a Linux distribution, meaning that it’s a complete operating system based around the Linux kernel.
Ubuntu is another distribution and is derived from Debian. Ubuntu makes a lot of changes from Debian. It would be better to think of their relationship as parent and child rather than a superhero’s alter ego.
Ubuntu is run by a company called Canonical. Over the years Canonical has made a number of controversial decisions (which I won’t get in to) and that’s why a lot of people don’t like Ubuntu.
Debian, on the other hand is community run. Additionally, they tend to not make radical changes since their focus is on providing a stable operating system.
As for why there are more Ubuntu based distros than Debian, I’m not certain. My guess is because Ubuntu is (or was?) more user friendly out of the box and it was a lot of people’s first distro for many years.
For your last question, I’d just go with the Debian version. As a beginner it would probably be easier to find help with that version. The Devuan version is aimed at more experienced users and old school sysadmins.

It’s the director.

The director did a documentary on Melania, so now he gets rewarded with the project he really wanted.

How about Wafrn?

The last good thing I got was a deck of sealed National Airlines playing cards for a dollar. For reference, National was bought by Pan Am and ceased operations in 1980, so these were at least 45 years old. I collect airline playing cards, so this was a nice find.
I find that yard sales and flea markets tend to be better these days.
It looks like they moved the location of the file. The investigation page has a working link.

It was a very surreal experience. Being a naive child from the north, I had no idea people and places like that still existed.

When I was around 9 or so I went on a road trip with my mother, grandmother, and sister. I believe it was the time we went to Savannah, Georgia. It was the second day of driving around noonish and we were thinking about getting lunch. At this point we were in southern North Carolina and for the past couple hours of driving we’d seen a number of billboards for some barbecue restaurant. So, the adults decided that’s we might as well try it.
Once we actually get to the place it’s a little run down and it’s also obvious that it used to be a Burger King in the 90s. Upon entering the little area that old Burger Kings had before the main room it’s clear that they’re using it as a kind of gift shop. However, it’s not a normal gift shop. It’s all pro-Confederate literature and memorabilia. We really should have left at that point, but my sister (about 1 year and 10 months old at the time) was getting pretty cranky, so we went against our better judgement and went in anyway. The food ended up being awful. The meat was overcooked and dry. Additionally, the only sauces they had were mustard and a mustard-based barbecue sauce.

I’m reminded of this one distro that I can’t remember the name of, but the dev went full Qanon and that was all over their website. Like the distro was actually bundled with Qanon materials.
My understanding is that Krita has custom color schemes to provide a more neutral environment that won’t affect the user’s perception of the image. It’s a thing that a lot of other image editors, especially the ones aimed at professionals, do.
This reminds me of another Tumblr post. The poster was also a trans man and he was using a homemade packer, but is slipped out while he was walking down a hallway at school. Unfortunately, a teacher just happened to be passing at the time and saw it happen. The teacher just flatly said “Man, I hate when that happens.”
From what I know, GNOME doesn’t officially support themes and the developers are very adamant that you don’t use them. If you really want to customize your desktop, then you’ll probably be better off with KDE. Do note that while you can rebase your current installation it’s recommended that you completely reinstall the operating system.
They have ISOs with Nvidia stuff pre-installed. I haven’t used it, though.
Are you on Plasma 6.5 yet? That’s supposed to be one of the new features.

I’m autistic and I have ADHD, so it’s a bit of a toss up. Sometimes they demand I go through an entire thing in a day. Other times it’s years later and I’ve barely made progress. I never know what I’ll get, but it’s more likely to be the latter if there’s more content. When there’s a long backlog my brain tends to check out earlier because it’s too busy focusing on everything I haven’t done yet.

Sceptre’s pretty good, but their speakers sound cheap. I recommend using an AV receiver and external speakers if going with them.
I found a guide on setting up Bazzite for modded Skyrim. I don’t know how accurate or up to date it is because I don’t have Skyrim, but it’s probably a good place to start.
Another option is Nobara. It’s Fedora-based and gaming focused, while not being immutable. Additionally it’s developed by Glorious Eggroll himself.
It happened when I was in kindergarten. I was sitting next to a friend on the bus and she got into an argument over something with the two boys across the aisle. Being that we were all 5 year olds, this quickly devolved into name calling. I particularly got into it with one of the boys and he threatened to punch me if things kept going. I though he was bluffing and we all continued with the verbal slap fight until the bus arrived at the school. At that point we got off and lined up to enter the building. Everything seemed to be over at that point. It was not. He delivered on his threat.
He was immediately taken to the principal and I was sent to the nurse. The next day all four of us had to apologize.
