Me and my partner debated a lot about this because they hate skibidi toilet. I had never watched it and do not care to but I tried to tell them that skibidi toilet is no different than shit we grew up with, they just werent on that side of the internet. It is literally just a SFM video. Its no different than the shitpost tf2 sfm videos a lot of us were watching back around the 2010 and that are still being made today. Is it Pootis Enage levels of SFM cinema? No, more akin to We Like To Party. But to pretend like the brainrot we grew up with is any better than the brainrot late gen z or gen alpha are growing up with is just delusional imho. I mean look at the shit we had, like Badgers, What Does The Fox Say, and plenty more. We always had brainrot on the internet, you’re just not a child anymore. Honestly I feel like the brainrot has gotten a bit better in a certain way. Its not as bigoted as it used to be. I remember a lot of internet humor being just saying slurs, racism, ableism, and queerphobia (not to say it doesn’t exist now, but I feel it is less common). I grew up with it, I still find it funny even if I also find it distasteful, but if skibidi toilet is the worst of your concerns then I think we are gonna be fine.

No but seriously, I remember in middle school during lunch they fucking showed footage of the towers getting hit and shit. Teachers during the early 2000s and 2010s were obsessed with trying to traumatize children with 9/11. Like it wasn’t for educational value, it was obviously them trying to make kids share in the trauma. Everyone wanted to play victim (like the teacher in the post who had zero connections to 9/11) about this and trauma dump it on students. It was really fucking weird and backfired cause I am certain that that shit is why people make shitposts about 9/11 now.
Isn’t that actually canon though? Cause the first book says the answer to the life, universe, and everything is 42, but then what is the question? And I think in the second book they answer that the question is 6x7

I would imagine the problem isnt paying creators or artists with membership support as a concept, but more that its still annoying to be bombarded with all of these different costs. I’m paying for this, I’m paying for that, where am I supposed to get the money to pay a monthly subscription for this one creator? You can’t enjoy anything without being reminded theres another bill. I am annoyed by patreon subscription requests, I don’t have the money. Whether or not the money is going to a better place doesn’t necessarilly make being reminded everything costs money and that you are broke ass bitch any more fun
42·8 天前I got a friday night detention for throwing one punch at a student who was attacking me. I threw that punch after descalation did not work, and as soon as I saw a teacher I signalled for help. My dad confronted the vice principle who was the one who gave me the punishment and my dad asked him what I should have done. The VP told my dad I did as I should have and as what was expected, but that the school has a zero tolerance policy so I still needed to be punished.

They ended up reforming their economy to be more capitalist because after the war, America embargoed them till they reformed (plus some other stuff like war with China and Cambodia that fucked up their economy). So now its kinda just a mix of state capitalism and regular capitalism like China. They suffer from a lot of corruption and poor management, plus pretty much abandoning any real socialist policy, so not a great place.
During the Vietnam war its important to remember that the Viet Minh (communists) had initially risen up to free themselves from colonialism. The treaty that was passed though split Vietnam in half with the communist north and capitalist south. Furthermore that South Vietnam was a hell hole. An insanely corrupt, violent, and oppressive anti-communist dictatorship. The Viet Minh were by no means angels, but compared to South Vietnam they were certainly the good guys. I want to stress comparatively.

I do want to specify that I am not counting AI in what I am talking about. I agree AI is worse and I consider it a whole different beast than the regular brainrot any generation consumes. I love shitposts, I love stupid and surreal memes, I love the stupid cringey internet shit like Homestuck, or Skibidi Toilet, whatever. Even if I don’t actually interact with it, I love that it exists and that people are enjoying it. Its real, its human, and like it or not it is art.
AI is the antithesis of art. It is not creation for the sake of creation or expression, it is creation for the sake of consuming. It is what art has struggled and failed to escape from, and that is becoming a product to be consumed. There is no expression or soul. I admire art in all its forms when it is made by a person because they wanted to put effort into making something. Not for profit, not forfame, but because they find the process to be intrinsically valuable to them. It is something I wish to see expand to the rest of life.
AI art is shrinking that glimpse and plunging the light and hope art gives for a better world, and confines us in a dark world of consuming and producing like a sick human centipede ouroboros.
