Fan of breaking echo chambers by being devils advocate. Other than that, centrist. As in in USA I’d be considered left.

Thinking about this tho…he’d probably do it. He’s a narcissist, it would boost his ego immensely and give him even more of a platform to stand on and pretend he’s good and funny internet guy

  • God made us in his image. Treat bible as a big diary of some dude working on a project that is vastly too big and suddenly it makes sense.

Welcome to Beta Eden. There’s a known bug, please do not intera- Fuck.

Okay, fuck off, I made a bigger version without the bug, we will continue with the project but everything must go along the framework I’ve set…the fuck you all doing. THE FUCK YOU ALL- Fuck. Hard reset.

Okay, welcome to 3.0, we can make this work, I ported best parts of 2.0 and…oh for fucks sake now you’re going one after another? Uhhh, okay, lemme help…yea yea chosen nation, whatevs, just gtfo before they get…what the fuck is hapennin, how do I fix ooooh, got and idea, gonna make avatar… Here, lemme insert me here…

They fuck they doin to my avatar. THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO.

Ah, fuck it, here, martyrdom for the win, I am done, gonna work on sonething else.

    …basically bible xD

  • Heh, I’m literally in the same boat as you - testing distros and such. And I studied programming for some time so I have above average tech literacy and yet still I had to spend some time learning how to get old wi-fi on a laptop to work (thankfully well documented), and I still have to tinker with which distro will be best for my hardware as it’s not only kinda old, but also I have nvidia card and some wierd wifi so I am ready for things to be weird.

And I hope I didn’t come off as saying that Linux is some insurmountable wall for everyday folk in original comment but as you pointed out - everyday folk ain’t willing to deal with any problems in the first place.

XKCD comic about specialists expectations towards everyday folk come to mind xD

  • Or does it just mean that Nazis are everywhere, and it’s more important than ever to call it out? Let’s not fool ourselves, at this point people on the left hurl “Nazi” as a common insult. No weight behind the word whatsoever, due to overuse.

You’re speaking a language made of words that have been mangled and mutated with no rhyme or reason, with significantly less logic behind it than other languages.

Yeah, but we are, at least should be, better than our ancestors at making it sensible. We can expand vocab for new words, we don’t need to destroy the meaning behind already existing ones.

  • > Ask

And then ask again each and every single time something doesn’t work. Or you need to install something. Something is badly configured.

You need at least medium level tech literacy to deal with Linux. Maaaaybe entry level with Mint and the like, but still, if you get skittish due to console, at which 70% of worlds population at minimum does, Linux ain’t for you.

Windows is successful because it’s easy to understand and holds your hand as much as possible. People who are complaining are quite often folk who are simply forced to use it, most people don’t really see anything wrong, even those using tech more…

When I draw I draw because I wanna draw. I wanna do the motions, create something, basically express myself in a way.

If I use AI it’s because I want some art, quick and dirty, right here right now. Sometimes later I do my own version, which is shittier, but again, then it’s about drawing, not about wanting a picture.

I have no problem with folk who use AI images for their personal use. Just A) Don’t pretend it’s yours and B) Do not use it commercially

  • Hi! I am your opposite. I hate when people mangle meaning of words with no reason altogether. Create new ones all you want, I am all behind it. But leave the old ones be and use them correctly.

Constant meddling, changing and pushing around of words makes them useless in communication and, in case of words having a weight attached to them, makes them hollow. It’s one thing to use custom meaning in your circle, another altogether to try to force it upon the world - in a way, becoming what you hate, someone forcing their definition.

For example, overuse of the word “Nazi” pretty much made it worthless. Today if people get called nazi…nobody cares. Word got overused, it’s meaning thinned.

What I hate about MAGA tho is that we create new words for new phenomena like transsexual and they behave as if it wasn’t valid. It’s not words they protect - they protect their worldview and frame it as defending language.

Gonna dig my grave but I do consider female and transfemale different. But especially if they had surgery they are both women. We never specified women fully, did we? Traditionally it’s just a person with tits and vagina. And I hate mental gymnastics MAGA go to to try and exclude people who literally went through invasive medical procedure to fit into what their brain deemed always natural. This is defending meaning of words vs. defending your worldview and framing it as defending words.

Also I may be autistic cuz I cling to rules too much xD

Not OP but mine are, anything wrong with it? Communication aims at information exchange, if you wanna say hey just say hey, we don’t need to waste away doing empty, false gestures at each other. You want to learn something I know? Happy to help! Vice versa? I hope you also don’t mind.

Wanna waste air with saying empty words, devoid of any actual meaning? You’d get the most appropriate version of “Yeah” and a stare urging you to get to the point.
