My buddy works for Verizon and just let a few of us know that Friday they’ll be laying off 15% of the workforce.

So much same. I haven’t written many complete songs, soup to nuts, but I have dozens upon dozens of different tunes, from 8 bars out to a few minutes, and I know I’ve spent hours listening to them on repeat.
There’s just something really special about a song that kinda comes together on its own. Sometimes it felt like work, but sometimes the creative juices would flow and it was magical. Was similar with making mixes too, where I just felt which song should come next and didn’t put much thought into it.
Been a long while though, life is busy now. But it’s always there waiting for me to come back.

What do you have other than the .22?
:-D!!
It’s 95%. If you’re going to be annoying at least do it right.
Same shit happening right across the river in Jersey City too, hilarious.
I bought my WRX in October 2024, and changed them for the first time in late November or Early December. I decided to read the manual, despite having had a WRX in the past and it just being changing tires, not rocket science.
The manual said to torque to 89 lb/ft, which let me tell you is not that much, I used to crank em down pretty good. I didn’t stand on the wrench or nothing, but it was always just get em good and on there. So I’m glad I RTFM’d, they did great all winter, summers went back on, did great, and winter’s coming, though later here in Jersey than where you are OP.

Nope, America bad, and the only reason we can’t have nice things is the economy, it has nothing to do with people treating each other like shit for as long as people and shit have existed. Everyone constantly worries about what everyone thinks and because of that people paint their homes dark gray, and the walls are all light gray, and the shutters are black. And the worst part is I’m over here criticizing their design choices, so I’m equally guilty.
If everything were pretty colors and crazy shapes people would complain and say “It’s because of American capitalism that things aren’t boxy and gray.” Yawn yawn yawn.
And like I said, I am absolutely part of the problem. I think it’s beautiful that we get to sit here and bitch about it all.
I generally say things like “it’s complicated, but let’s see if we can find out.”. Unfortunately when my daughter said “Why are your parents divorced,” I had to leave it at “It’s complicated.” Basically, magnets.
I hope you hit em with a niner fower niner.
I just question if the 50 is getting the same rate as the 30. Obviously, all else equal, math is math. Banks see that $300 savings as a potential extra $150 a month.
This guy’s just trying to hide the treasure from the rest of us.
I’m an independent contractor and I honestly don’t have many of the issues I read in this thread. I’m my own boss, deadlines are prescribed by state law, things are pretty nice.
But one thing I don’t do is deliver the work early. That’s a laid service in my line of work; you want it sooner, I’ll work nights and weekends to get it to you, and you’ll pay me extra money. When you start giving work early, people start to expect it, and the same people will always ask for an extra day or two here and there.
Knickerbocker?
And yeah, same tune I was thinking.

It really is. Someone practicing a joke for their standup routine on Tumblr gets dissected to dust. It’s why I’m here, I think.
