Idk much about programming but that looks like a beautiful reduction of bloat in coding language 😶

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What's more dangerous nowadays: To not update Win11, or to update it?
3·11 days agoLike everyone else is saying, updating is the best policy for security, especially/ironically with the increasing internet connectedness of the OS. I’ve heard of things like Windows Shut Up! That disables various undesirable “features” of windows forcefully, there might be something like that for Win11 that you can run after updates. Or maybe a YouTube channel that tells you what new things to combat. If there is someone please let me know.
Sounds familiar. We can be downvote-and-report buddies!
Check out Splattercatgaming on YouTube, he covers a fair few good looking indie games.

Games•Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows — as Windows 10 dies, gaming on Linux is more viable than everEnglish
11·1 month agoHad no major issues with Steam games so far on Linux mint, but I like owning my games, so I buy as much as I can from GOG, and Lutris and Heroic both have not given me exactly easy experiences :L

No Stupid Questions•what's the best material for wiping out a cast iron skillet?
1016·4 months agoTry not to use soap if possible, it can get into the iron since it’s porous and become a part of the “seasoning”. Same goes for mortar and pestle care
40,000-60,000 mph is crazy 😶 must be those nebraska speeds

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•What are some games with absolutely fantastic soundtracks?
4·4 months agoShadowrun Hong Kong, and Ronin, the game on Steam with the chick and motorcycle helmet. There is also an app called Kingturn RPG that rocks. Oh and I almost forgot the best one of all, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

No Stupid Questions•What is the most easy instrument that anyone could pick up?
2·4 months agoI picked up uke super fast, much easier than guitar since it’s only got 4 strings and they’re often nylon or whatever and not metal. Not great at it, takes a while to freestyle, but the basic chords are simple, and there’s a few channels on YouTube that put out four chord songs. Also fairly cheap, I started on a $50 one that wasn’t great but passable, and upgraded later to Enya for like $130 and that works just fine
A guy I worked with, not even super closely, left me a handwritten card when he moved on saying it was a pleasure working with me. I did not expect it and almost certainly didn’t deserve it but I still have that card somewhere.
I wish my town did that. I collect a lot for recycling anyways but I have to take it someplace to get rid of it.
I don’t quite understand this picture but I am definitely amused by it

Games•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English
3·5 months agoI feel like ACO has a lot of fluff & repetitive gameplay but I played it for over 400 hours so I can say I enjoyed it 😬 it feels like going outside without having to
Maybe OP was low on the priority list for computing power? Idk how this stuff works

;_; Star Wars legends fan, I will continue to resent Disney forever for blighting one of my favorite franchises. But yeah new “Star Wars” content has ceased to excite me. When the acolyte came out and I saw the reviews I was completely unsurprised.
