I’ve worked jobs that weren’t easy, sure. I used to teach. That shit was TOUGH. However, your frame of mind changes everything. Like I said, you might not want to hear it, but sometimes the problem isn’t the job. Sometimes the problem is your point of view.

I like Tiktok for funny and helpful videos, but I deleted it because I realized the algorithm was controlling too much of what I was seeing. I realized it was starting to shape my opinions and split.

Their algorithm is a drug and spreads propaganda just like Facebook. Stay far away.

The grass is always greener on the other side. If you aren’t happy with one job, I’m afraid you won’t be happy with the other. Just because it sounds easier, doesn’t mean you will enjoy it. It’s not the job that’s making you miserable, it’s your frame of mind.

I know that’s hard to hear, but it’s true. You don’t go looking for happiness and peace, you create inside yourself. The only way out, is in. If it seems at any point like it’s the whole world against you, it’s more likely you against yourself.

I’d say stick with the nursing job, but talk to a mental health professional and figure out what’s really bothering you.

Day 10. I feel optimistic, but a little anxious. I can’t stop with distractions. I need to be doing something at all times. Like if I stop moving, it will become unbearable. I hope this passes. In the meantime, I’ve not been very productive, just distracted with video games and movies.

It’s not illegal to listen, however these radios don’t have frequencies low enough for air traffic. I do use FlightRadar24 all the time though. My daughters will point out a plane and ask me where it’s going.

If you read the book, he explains that you can’t avoid pain and suffering. That’s just life. It’s not about avoiding pain and just pretending to be happy. It’s about choosing to smile upon the pain, because it will always be there and we are given the choice to dwell or smile.

Pain is stubbing your toe on the chair leg. Suffering is choosing to be mad at the chair.

As snarky as I was being, I agree with you. No one can make you feel the way you do, but you. Thich Nhat Hahn, a Buddhist monk, has a book called “Being Peace” which addresses choosing to smile at pain. He says, “There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.” That book changed my life.

Be happy when you’re miserable. Wear a whacky tie while you waste your life making other people rich. Treat yourself to a nice coffee before you slave away the day to pay $2000 a month for a closet apartment.
