From quick research, it certainly seems to be the preferred alternative. It’s been around for quite awhile and look to have a legit business model. I also found an open source app that looks decent.

I see that. Under MultiLauncher. One of the contributors acknowledges the two separate versions but doesn’t say anything about it. I didn’t dig too deep, but I’ll definitely be watching. Probably trying out CCLauncher as well given it’s close to identical.
I just saw that there’s a newish fork of OLauncher called CCLauncher. I’m going to be testing it out for sure.
Absolutely. I only use Obtainium. It’s the only way. :)
I’m assuming the Play store version is what’s being referenced. It lists an IAP, but I can’t see what it is.
I’ve been using mlauncher forever and never even knew there were IAPs. One of the things I like about it is I don’t even know it’s there. I have no icons. Just a blank home screen. It’s beautiful.
I feel ya. It’s crazy easy. I was surprised. Then, just wardrive. 😊
Fwiw: I’ve been using a Verizon locked one without ever activating the sim. It works just fine as a Rayhunter. It just doesn’t work as a hotspot.
Love getting downvoted for legitimate questions. Thank you for the answer. I guess I’m one of the few that views releases as indicators of…releases. I’m not as familiar with iOS. So maybe that’s a bad way to do it on my part. Thanks again.
Installed and I’ll be testing. Where is the development done? I was on the TF forever and it just stopped. Don’t see any work on the main git either. Am I missing something?
👏🏻 Well. Done.
I’ve been happily using mLauncher. It’s about as minimal as they come. I’ve got zero on my screens. https://github.com/DroidWorksStudio/mLauncher
This is really cool. Kudos to the folk/s behind it!
Another thing to think about which took me a bit: any BT is bad for privacy. So, we have to be cautious of when we use it. Something I used to do is drive to Target and throw my earbuds in to listen to a podcast while I shop. Having BT enabled anywhere near any of these places is not best privacy practice. They use the protocol to identify and track. So, basically, buy your buds from a smaller distributor and pay attention to when you have it enabled on your phone.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll for sure be going through this and checking out the suggested sites. I imagine it will help me add more books to my pile of books to read that hopefully I’ll get to some day. I’m not even mad though. I love the challenge.
Absolutely. It’s a pretty baby no matter what!
I saw the number stamp. Yeah, it’s entirely possible the base plate has been swapped. It’d be a little weird. It’s not like they break. But it is possible. Enjoy!
It looks like a Gillette Long Comb but they have stamps on the comb. Are you sure there’s nothing else marked on the comb or baseplate? If not, it’s probably a knockoff. Gillette was pretty good about stamping.
EDIT: eBay listing
Robosats used to have gift cards as an option. Not sure anymore. It’s been awhile.
