Programming@programming.dev•Never trust a programmer who says they know C++ by Louis Brandy
1·2 years agoRemind me why we don’t trust anyone over 30?
Skimming through code and looks good - some Python features I forgot had been added.
Curious to know if Output.status is always either -1 or 1. Is this just a holdover for a future where we have specific error codes and don’t want to do exception handling on Output.error?

3·2 years agoI wouldn’t limit yourself to game dev and you might consider looking for a software product tech support role to get your “foot in the door”.
Obviously if your heart is set on game dev then ignore me. But getting some experience in software dev in general will help you be able to pivot to other roles or sectors.

Programming@programming.dev•Why You Shouldn’t Use OFFSET and LIMIT For Your Pagination
3·2 years agoI was going to recommend looking at https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/paginate-search-results.html#scroll-search-results - but it looks like that method is now not advised- but if you read up above it it looks like there’s a search_after/PIT method described which sounds similar to the article.
This is all to say - I don’t think this is a one-off concept - it’s been around for a bit.
