Well 14 spoonfuls wouldn’t finish the soup even if it wasn’t raining so that’s definitely wrong.

I remember my wife looking for a web dev position in early 2015 and at one place they were adamant that 5 years of HTML5 in experience was mandatory.
Wikipedia says:
On 28 October 2014, HTML5 was released as a W3C Recommendation,[32] bringing the specification process to completion.
Edit: I know the spec was a work in progress since 2008 but it’s still kind of a ridiculous requirement. To put it in to perspective, my wife’s class was the first year that they trained on Html5 instead of 4.
Sabin10to Technology•Startup Claims Its Fusion Reactor Concept Can Turn Cheap Mercury Into GoldEnglish172·17 days agoI read up on this the other day and their claims are 8 tons produced per gigawatt of energy consumed. Even if they manage a quarter. Of that, it’s enough to obliterate the value of gold. I doubt this will actuary go anywhere either way but it would be nice to see.
Sabin10to News•2026 World Cup: FIFA considers moving games from USA to Canada amid immigration policies5·26 days agoImagine being such a shithole that people will pass on attending a world cup game just to avoid your country. Russia and Qatar were not a problem but the good old USA is a financial liability.

That would be less than a 2 second difference from the 3 minutes that was cut from the video.
Sabin10to World News•Trump's sudden shifts make his policies baffling to countries trying to negotiate lower tariffsEnglish9·1 month agoIf the current trade agreements with Canada, Mexico and Japan are so terrible then whoever it was that signed them is probably unfit to try negotiating new ones. Oh wait, that was also Donald Trump.
Sabin10to politics •Think Democrats and Republicans can't work together? On sealing eviction records, they do.8·1 month agoStatistically speaking, that would split the American “left” vote while not affecting the number of republican voters at all. At best it would give the republicans at least a minority government in every election for a long time and nothing will change. As impossible as it seems, the best course of action would be to try to effect change in the democratic party instead of trying to run against them. It really a shitty scenario with no real winning solution at present.
Did I miss something in the last 24 hours? Guess it’s time to read the news.

Sabin10to Mildly Interesting•The richest 100 donors make up 18% and 53% of US Political Party funds. Their influence has increased significantly since 2008.61·1 month agoThe growth between 2008 and 2022 was the same as the growth between 2022 and 2024.
That would hold 1.66 copies of war and peace.
Sabin10to Linux Gaming•Games run faster on SteamOS than Windows 11, Ars testing findsEnglish2·2 months agoIt has a gaming mode which is essentially the big picture steam interface and it has a desktop mode which is a fully functional Linux pc. If I wanted my deck to be my plex/immich/file server, I could do so without making a single change to the stock os.
It’s the same reason the US gives Israel money for military aid. They turn around and give it all back to US based arms manufacturers.
A lot of games are going to work without you having to do anything and some will need some tinkering. In that case, https://www.protondb.com/ will be your best friend, telling you exactly what you need to do to get things running.
That being said, some games simply can’t be run under Linux. They might work in the future as compatibility improves but some won’t. If it’s an issue for you, you might want to dual boot windows as a workaround.
You see though, this is completely Torontos fault because they chose not to elect Doug Ford as mayor in 2014 and he’s a childish, vindictive cunt.
