huge storms came through in early July, dropping inches of rain, causing floods and danger and keeping us at home for days Local Heritage Museum near Whangerei. It’s a mix of Maori and Colonial local history. Storm clouds developing over Auckland view from my desk in my room , it was nice and peaceful 😊with occasional cows 🐄 beer steins from the most popular pub in the world ( it’s in Hobbiton ) and I believe it, it has thousands of patrons a day little skink on Ocean Beach on the Pacific coast, that’s Miss Seagoon’s footprint a giant sand dollar and sea foam on the beach, the sand is black and can colour sea shells blue last day at the beach, Waipu Cove some of the shells we found

TIL a new word, Bommie. A bommie is a lone coral colony, a large one of around 50cm diameter maybe at least 200-300 years old. And TIL that Port Philip Bay experienced a coral bleaching event earlier this year caused by warming of the seas. Maybe that explains why I’m finding a lot of coral on the beaches.
