Hi, I’m also Terencio on mastodon.social and Sergio on slrpnk.net. I mostly use this account when there are issues on slrpnk.net.

I have a bunch of images and meme templates I’ve used from movies related to the “Monsterdon” watch party on Mastodon, our fediverse sibling! I’ma start posting them here, mods lemme know if that’s not cool.
That pic of a burning screaming face is far out… it should be a reaction meme or something…
This is plainly true.
Whenever I read a statement like this, my BS detector fires up.
A 2014 study in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that test subjects who showed difficulty getting up off the floor without support of hands, or an elbow, or leg (what’s called the “sitting-rising test”) resulted in a three-year-shorter life expectancy than subjects who got up with ease.
I did a bit of judo and they made us get up without support. At first it was very difficult but after a bit it was pretty easy. I encourage you to try it, it’s a good skill to have. (besides adding 3 years on your life, allegedly?)
a higher incidence of knee and osteoarthritis issues.
Anecdotes are about as reliable as gurus, but anecdotally I find that there’s bad squatting and good squatting. e.g. keeping knees and feet pointed out as in Sumo, is much easier on my knees than keeping knees and feet pointed forward as in Shotokan.
Trying to get my bearings… Mina talks about the steps up from the West Pier.
I think that’s somewhere in that green patch between the “East Terrace” and “Battery Parade” streets to the left of the image. (source). I think during that sunset they were there, looking across the river at the East Cliff. here’s a pic of the East Cliff, with the old chapel, as seen from the west side of town (i.e. this is the view they would have seen, but it woulda been bathed in red from the sun setting behind them)
if you look at the high-res source you can see the walkway up there to the right, and the cemetery to the left. dunno where their “seat” was, I’m guessing at the top of the cliff somewhere.
What I like about this song in particular is that there IS a structure to it, but that structure is very unlike that of a typical pop song.

Yo I saw a couple other folks posting there in the last week…
There is indeed “so much to unpack and learn from an exchange like this.” Unfortunately I don’t think she’s going to learn it.
omg I didn’t even think of that. fwiw I think they’re from somewhere in Europe.
hmmm… historically, coca leaves were holy to the indigenous people of the andes and still play an important cultural role. ok, that’s all I’m gonna argue.
oh it gets even worse than that. the coca leaves are shipped to Jersey so the cocaine can be removed before use in the drink! source.
Thirded. In fact, in “a corpus of VIC-20 software”, just knowing that the programs were there, were used, their size, how they were implemented, etc might be useful. For sure extract the most interesting-looking stuff first, but if you have time, do as much as you can.
Hey, that reminds me of my mother’s special chocolate chip cookie recipe. Who doesn’t love the warm gooey smell of chocolate chips? Well this was her special recipe when we asked her for cookies. She said:
MMMM! The heartwarming memories of childhood!
Hmmm… in the US, I think cocaine cola was illegal in the 50s, but you could get amphetamines pretty easily…
Reddit has a recent history of cutting off access to scraper tools as AI companies have begun to use (and abuse) them en masse, but it’s willing to provide that data if companies pay.
There it is. People who post/comment/vote on reddit are creating monetizable resources for Reddit. ofc Reddit doesn’t want to give it away for free, they want to get PAID. Hey, maybe some of it will “trickle down” to the Worker Snoos.
Ever since then, the coffee lacked this undefineable “something” that had made it good…
This is awesome. So far I’ve only listened to the first couple tracks, which correspond to “From Beyond”. It was a little odd to have it suddenly transition into another story without warning (with the same narrator), so I had to stop for a while.
Weirdly, I listened to the first story just before falling asleep on the couch, and suddenly I heard a crash from outside, and I saw first one car, then another and another, being thrown from a great distance and saw them land on the yard, exploding. I was about to panik before I realized it was a very realistic dream and woke up.
Your drawing style is especially relevant now as a visual defiance of the hyper-realistic (but soulless) style of “AI Art”.
