As for my optimism, it’s pretty high because of the comments he left on Reddit after the announcement (again, emphasis mine), like:

One of my hopes is that we won’t have the huge delays between seasons as is common in streaming. So I’ll focus on that, and learning from GoT and making sure the books finish on time

Yes, if this delays Elantris sequels, I have to live with that. It will not delay Mistborn or Stormlight; but it might impact secret projects
