Perhaps worth identifying your previous degrees and country? Where I reside, there is an incredible short fall in some areas that require additional education or tertiary education. So, no, higher learning isn’t a scam… however I would encourage searching for a reputable university in an area with a growing need. Perhaps it’s worth searching for your government “planning for the future” to see which careers they feel will be required in the future

Privacy@programming.dev•Instagram is testing new iOS push notifications that include a profile photo. Each time the notification is shown on your screen, it triggers a GET request to fetch that image, letting Meta track ever
2·3 months agoFor your top 3 dot points, I still don’t quite understand why they wouldn’t already have that information if you’re using the app and they’re sending push notifications anyway.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•The Great Firewall of China experienced the largest leak of internal documents in its history on Sept 11, 2025. Over 500GB of source code, work logs, and internal communication were leaked
1·3 months agoI’m not sure at the technical level, there’s definitely inconsistencies though. For example, you can’t watch youtube, but I would often get YouTube notifications. Yet, the block was still significant enough all of my “offline” videos stopped working because I hadn’t logged in for 30 days.
Could also get random updates from my national radio Edit: actually from memory could also access Kbin and peertube.

51·3 months agoTrump was democratically elected TWICE. He is a symptom of the dysfunction in American, not the only cause of it.
Often the 1st and second amendments are screeched out at the heavens of needing to be protected. Look where that’s currently got america, thinking that killing someone is justified… what about Charlie’s right to free speech?
Im not suggesting there is an easy or quick fix. I’m suggesting resorting to killing people you disagree with is a quick fire way to fuel and increase extremism

51·3 months agoThere’s obviously a clear difference between assassinating someone or just saying “well I guess we’ll just let them do their thing”. If they perform violence, you have your justice system. You need to address the cause of why people are being recruited… and obviously stop the recruitment. Just killing people is not the answer

53·3 months agoYou need to address culturally why there is a resurgence. It probably would also help to ban the ability of hate groups to congregate / show their symbols etc
