It’s the 8th iirc, and only if you count Nodoka and Fauna + Chloe which were announced last year and happened in the first couple days of the year. Not too surprising considering how big Holo is right now.

This… doesn’t feel real. Like, I know it is, but it’s just so weird.

On one side, it’s a graduation announcement with direct confirmation that she won’t be reincarnating, which is really sad and really a shame, considering how incredibly talented she is.

On the other, on the graduation announcement, she messed up the English translation at the beginning “spoiling” it, repeatedly read what she prepared incorrectly, laid out every possible scenario why she wasn’t graduating, and was even bantering with chat. With, of course, the most 草s I’ve ever seen in a graduation announcement chat.

I don’t know how she manages to be so professional and PON at the same time, the whole stream definitely left me confused, but it was all so overwhelmingly Kanata. She’s not even letting us be properly sad without making us laugh along the way. Man I’m gonna miss her.

Just the modlog being public allows for way more accountability and pointing out PTBs.

She did delete them afaik, they were all from 2014 and her past account shows no tweets prior to 2017.

I personally doubt anyone would care unless we’re talking real names/faces (and there’s very few who still have that up), but I guess it wouldn’t hurt, yeah.

How to do that here, though? I don’t think we have the “black bar” style in the text editor, at most we could put the whole comment/paragraph under spoiler, but does that universally work in every Fedi frontend? Iirc stuff like breakthrough text rendered differently on some of those.

Both this and the other comment don’t say anything for sure, but it’s been a while since Justice debuted so it could definitely happen.

I’m always very conflicted about new gens, on one hand more people makes Holo even harder to follow (which is a very minor downside in the grand scheme but I still end up thinking that lol), on the other they always recruit great talents and I’m happy they’ve been given their chance to shine. Overall, the current pace is good, as long as we don’t get into Nijisanji-level of spamming gens it’s fine.

Without directly revealing Biboo’s past-life account (because I don’t know if that’s allowed here)

There’s been a post with some past life discussions about a year ago and it’s still up, so I guess that’s allowed (?) at least in regards to stuff that’s still public, maybe not for ones that deleted everything (which is not Biboo’s case).

I didn’t minimize what happened. I just asked if Sucker Punch had any role in that since I wouldn’t boycott a game just because there’s assholes in its fanbase.

Sucker Punch fired one of their senior devs for a mario and luigi joke when kirk got got. EVERYONE was angry, the studio heads came out to say they stand by their decision, and plenty of people were keyed in to the hell that Erika Ishii has had to put up with on social media for daring to portray a female character in a video game.

(I didn’t know about any of this before this comment so apologize if I’m misinterpreting)

From what I read though, there were A LOT of angry people even because of the joke, weren’t there? I’m guessing they had to take a stance and went with the “killing is bad” to not get too politically involved. Which is still a coward move, but personally not something I’d boycott a game over.

What happened with Erika Ishii? Social media was being social media and I know that, but did Sucker Punch themselves do anything to contribute to that?

Iirc her close family is pretty old so it shouldn’t really be a surprise, but it’s still a shame. Hopefully it doesn’t end up being anything serious, wishing her and her family good luck.
