I think they mostly crushed the protest and that only a minority of redditors will move and that’s fine.

I still hope the reddit IPO will be a failure so that it shows it’s not a good thing to alienate even a small part of your userbase.

Is it reliable ?

Is it really about those pesky cookie pop-ups we get on all sites ? I suppose this doesn’t do anything for GDPR pop-ups ?

A few of mine :

• AndOTP : A good app for OTP that actually let’s you backup your keys and move them easily and securely to a new phone
• Blokada : A system wide adblocker for Android. 4000000 ads blocked so far on my phone
• YouTube Vanced: Not really a “hidden” gem but a cool app nonetheless. I wish people knew you could get an ad free YouTube experience on mobile. It also includes sponsor block so you really get straight to content. Also let’s you get a YT popup player and shutdown the screen with the video still playing.
• F-Droid an Android open source app market. Often includes apps that are not allowed on Google market.

I think I ate a fairly similar dish in Paris (15eme). We had some pretty authentic Korean restaurants there and I really enjoyed discovering this food.

As far as I know Samsung makes it incredibly difficult to unlock the bootloader of the phone. And I think it’s the only way to do a full backup.

Most of the options described here in the comments are partial backups.

When I was doing this I was using Nandroid to get a full backup and restore it later on.

Don’t unpack Tomo. If it fits it sits.

Android runs on a unix kernel.

I personally think an open source android rom is a good middle ground between running a full linux OS and google’s Android.

I don’t know what roms are good right now though.

I would probably go for a fairphone and install the non google rom:

Or check if your current phone is supported by any open source Rom.

In any case you will most likely have a lot less apps since you would have only access to non google play services apps. There is a fairly decent choice of apps on F-Droid but your experience will remain limited.

To some extent I think you can do most of that on Lemmy.

You can upload images for your posts (not sure for short videos) and cross-post them to other communities.

Edit: I don’t know kbin.social but I suspect it would be more adequate to what you want to do.

Aux is better here because it is made of multiple fruits.

This is an article from 2020 and I’m fairly sure it didn’t happen.

It happens more since the law changed in 2017.

Our “Ministre de l’intérieur” said it happens less frequently but it has been fact checked and it’s a lie.

For context the law changed in 2017 in the midst of the terrorist attacks in France. Unsurprisingly the law passed as a reaction to this is very ambiguous and unclear on when you can use your firearm if someone refuses to stop in a car.

Je reste convaincu que si demain un dev de WhatsApp est contraint de rajouter une backdoor, on ne le saurait pas avant des années Je veux juste dire que pour une application aux sources fermées il faut faire confiance dans l’entreprise qui gère le code: Facebook en l’occurrence.

D’un autre côté si ce document est vraie, il semblerait que l’implémentation du protocole de Signal empêche au moins correctement l’accès au contenu des messages en transit et sur l’appareil dans une certaine mesure.
