What a great question! The Roman empire fell in the 400s CE if I remember right. It was about a thousand years later that peppers first showed up in Europe. So that would not have been a concern.

But if it had, it would depend on what it was rinsed in and how well it was rinsed. Vinegar can help neutralize the heat from capsaicin. Saltwater can help because of the way salt interacts to make it more water soluble. Regular water wouldn’t really help.

Most of those are incredibly solid. I’m not a vegan but I actually prefer standard pancakes made with oil and almond milk instead of buttermilk and butter with a little touch of coconut sugar. They tend to come out better and I like the almond milk flavor.

A former school friend said Democrat but then retracted the statement within a few hours (which could mean anything from “It’s true but I don’t want to get involved”, to “I didn’t understand what I was being asked”, to “I lied and don’t want my statement scrutinized so that I won’t be a national pariah when it comes out”).

It’s true. I lost a bunch of weight and got in shape. Not buff, but I got a swimmer’s body. I did get some attention from women but honestly I got way more attention from dudes. I still get a lot more dude attention when I go somewhere new.

Yep! I like Robert Mitchum. I also like the fact that John Wayne was older and less invincible. They also did Rio Lobo but my brother and I agree that was the worst one.

Italians were (maybe are, I don’t know) willing to try shit to see what sticks. Look at their horror. Our slasher movies are heavily influenced by Giallo. The horror movie landscape would be completely different if Italian filmmakers weren’t betting daring.
