As others have said, lactose free milk! As another option, my local vegan cafe also offers things like oat milk and coconut milk - and while they don’t quite give the same foam as regular milk, I reckon they make a much better tasting latte.

  • Presses like Fitcarraldo, Charco, 404 etc. are responsible for introducing me to some of the best reads I’ve had in recent hears, from authors like Jon Fosse, Olga Tokarczuk, Helen McClory and Selva Almada. I was introduced to the women in translation month through these publishers and it’s led to some of the most meaningful reads I’ve ever had. I therefore have a lot of love for many of these publishers and it’s fantastic to see so many of them making such an impact.

  • El Orfanato. Watched it as part of a foreign language film club at school when I was about 12/13. Over a few weeks we watched some Ghibli, some great Italian films and then this.

Nothing could have prepared me for this film, I’d never watched a horror movie before. I had nightmares for at least a month, and I’d actually be hesitant to watch it even now because it scared me so badl!

Has to be said though, was a great film and it had me choking up at the end.

  • I’ve not read it to completion, but the YoRHa: Pearl Harbour Descent (depicting events leading up to NieR: Automata) is certainly very good. As an aside, the NieR: Automata light novels are excellent.

If you’re in to your Yoko Taro there’s also several manga entries in the Drakenguard universe, but I don’t know these so well.

There’s also a bunch of good adaptations of visual novels, like Danganropa and Steins;Gate, but I feel like I’m cheating a little by suggesting those!
