Yes, I concur. Have been coming to the US since 1992, no more. The last time was 2023 and I don’t forsee anytime soon I’ll be returning.

Progressive Politics•ICE Said They Were Being Flown to Louisiana. Their Flight Landed in Africa
2·4 months agoFor sure, this regime is staffed with people who have lost all capacity for empathy, probably due to their troubled upbringing. So it would not be past these folks to use actual shipping containers. They could not care less.

3·4 months agoI’ll be the last person to defend Trump, his cabinet members or his policies. But looking at that link, it’s clearly not a shipping container, even though the words are used in the article.
It’s actually this: https://www.willscot.com/en/entertain-host
Container offices, which are clearly not meant to house people in, but aren’t shipping containers either.

3·4 months agoThe signs you need to look for is what happens next. Sure, they knew the optics would be really bad if the police had started slaying into 300/500K people. But tomorrow or next week it’ll only be a few hundred. Or just individuals that wear a rainbow item. Will they ‘disappear’ such as is now happening with darker skinned people in the US?

I’m 100% certain the rise of the extreme right is fuelled by the oil and gas industry. Hell, the extreme political islam has been pushed by Saudi Arabia for decades. We’ve been paying for our own downfall.
Vance was placed there with the objective to replace Trump eventually. These guys don’t need Trump any more, but like the industrials underestimated Hitler when they put him into power, Thiel and co are probably underestimating Trump’s shrewdness. He will burn everything down before he’ll be put out of power.

Electric Vehicles@slrpnk.net•SAP plans to convert entire vehicle fleet to electric by 2030, over 95% of current EV drivers also want an EV as their next car
3·5 months agoNice to see a large employer like SAP throwing their weight around. I’m a little surprised that it’ll take until 2030 as in the Netherlands many corps already have a policy in place mandating EV only company cars only, from 2024 onwards. Technically one could take a diesel or petrol car, but in practice this would be cost prohibitive.

Sadly enough, this will become the new normal. We, as a society, really need to look at the role oil and gas companies are playing and stop talking with them.
They are the problem, not part of any solution.
It’s actually insane how the oil and gas industry has hijacked the climate conferences and is controlling the narrative.
CO2 capture, hydrogen and a whole array of ‘solutions’ which are nothing but a distraction from the core issue; this is a criminal enterprise that’s a full-blown threat to humanity.

Indeed, this is a terrible development. Especially since Orban is hosting the event, receiving a war criminal (2 by now, with Trump’s illegal actions in the Caribbean) on EU territory.
