  • Depends on the climate and the number of trees. I understand wanting to leave all the leaves, but it’ll just create a muddy mess in my yard. I mulch them, it spreads through the yard. I circle around the trees and garden beds to get more leaves in those areas. Leftovers go on the composting pile.

    Update:

This one turned out much better!

Went overnight at 200 from 21:30 to 08:30. It stalled for many hours. Turned up the heat to 250, let it go for a few more hours until I was happy with the bark. I then wrapped it in butcher paper, then gradually increased to 280 until around 16:30. Tested it at 208 and probe was dropping in like butter. Opened it up to peak and jiggled it around, wrapped it back up until it got to 180 internal and put it in the oven at 170 for now hours. Took it out and let it sit for a few more minutes until I cut it.

Total time was about 23.5 hours. I was having difficulty uploading more pictures, but all of the connective tissue was completely rendered, smoke and flavor was fantastic, bark turned out great. I’ve gotten rave reviews from my family.

I don’t know a ton about Norway, nor have I visited. Can you edify me on the reality compared to the Potemkin village facade? Are there social safety nets? How do they work/not work in practice? What’s phony about other European countries? The closest I’ve been to Norway is Denmark and I had a lot of conversations with locals about healthcare and qol and they all seemed better off than what we have in America.

  • This is what I’ve done; I founded an adult rec sports league a few years ago that’s burgeoned into a thriving community. It’s about half queer, we have a large group that hangs out after games, regular social events, developing leadership board, active Discord. We’ve raised over $10,000 for charities and member medical bills. (America is really sad) It’s really a bright spot in a lot of our lives right now. As things get worse, we now have a community to fall back on and support one another.
