Yeah, I’ve heard it described as the Shark Tank defense. If you’re willing to jump into a tank of sharks rather than perform this act, it’s almost certainly the wrong choice. You wouldn’t jump into a shark tank if you dropped your wallet, so murdering someone over a wallet is a no-go. Maybe you would in a life-and-death situation. If you can’t convince another person of sound mind to perform the same action, defending it in court is gonna be real difficult.

2y ago (during the reddit app lockdown) there was a lot of groundswell for joining other communities. Quite a few people made how-to videos showing the process. Although I bet they’re a little outdated now…

Nah, they just don’t wanna do it, then they spread this rumor about the perils of our legal system preventing them. There’s a thing called the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act in the US which absolves businesses from liability. But i believe it has to go to a distribution center, not directly to a person, which may require additional effort from the grocer/restaurant.

My father had it when he was trying to consolidate his utilities. It was nearly unusable even for watching a 720p youtube video. Whenever I visited his house, I elected to work offline rather than pull my hair out
