  • Yo. Buffy is peak tropes. The site “TV Tropes” was created for Buffy. Invented the term “Big Bad”, the first episodic show to have an overarching story across the season. The only femme in the “Notable Examples” list of “The Chosen One” trope article on Wikipedia. Buffy is using every literary archetype, story diamond formula, and third thing, in its story telling. If you like process and figuring how things are made, Buffy changed everything in TV, and it’s a worthy exercise to look at how and why.

Between the jeaned people on the right, it almost could be armored horses/knights. I think OOP saw this and thought it would be a good idea for a religious event, but they probably don’t actually have school aged kids to know it’s really just prayers before games at public schools, not like bible camps or parties. Catholic schools, sure but you only go there if you’re already catholic or your kid got expelled from the public school.in my experience

That’s what I think, it looks like a jousting ring at a Ren Faire. The banners, the dirt field. I don’t see anyone else dressed up to confirm. Maybe a different event on the faire grounds. The jousting ring at the Ohio Ren Faire has a low profile like this, but there are bleacher stands at this angle.

  • Aw Bean, do you have a diagnosis? I was pretty anti-stimulant at first, and have come around on them for this reason. I have a watch that vibrates an hour before I need to be up, take the stim, go back to sleep, and then waking up at my chosen time is easier. My sleep schedule rn is 4a - noon, so my watch buzzes at 11, the pill is in a ramiken, my water cup has a lid so I’m confident the water doesn’t have anything in it, sometimes it’s still cold. It has taken me 3 years to find a regiment to help wrest some control over my sleep schedule.

Let them ruin the existing things. I’m interested in the new things. Knowledge workers getting around the predatory journal/publishing system. The US West coast states creating a new Healthcare recommendation authority. If anything is vulnerable to take over… it should die. Diverse, messy systems are robust. Statistics was created to reinforce race “science”. Gynecology was created to keep female slaves making babies. This stuff has to go in order to get to there, look for the new ways. Break existing ontologies if they suck.
