“Canvas” is the only other one that’s been posted here*. It was a pixel art thing with a shared grid that ran for a day (maybe a little more or less) and users had to wait between their edits. Less risk of a single person blanking the whole thing or filling it up with nazi trash.

Looks like this community is here for if Canvas comes back (think it was an annual Reddit thing before it was here so they might follow suit). If not, maybe there will be something else like a game or scavenger hunt or whatever else that users from federated instances could collaborate on. Remains to be seen.

* I’m wrong, there were also some music-based events. Those were also only open to users of federated instances.

The Secret Handshake, the group that created the [statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands like the best pals they are were], had obtained a permit that allowed it to keep the statue displayed in the capital until 8pm on Sunday.

But the National Park Service, the federal agency that oversees the area, removed the statue because “it was not compliant with the permit issued”, Elizabeth Peace, a spokesperson for Department of the Interior, said to CNN.

Think it’s time to start putting together a letter to some politicians here in support of adding these to a future aid package. I don’t expect to convince anyone alone but maybe I can add my raindrop to a flood if others have the same idea. This is potentially life-saving tech (if it can get to where it’s needed, anyway) and exactly what I want my tax money doing.

Might want to consider wearing gloves in case there are any metal shavings embedded in the grease. I’ve neglected this before and found little steel shards in my hands for a week or so afterward.
