bonsai@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Boycott US@lemmy.ca•Everyone is starting to hate America!English10·15 days agoFuck me, I’ve lived here all my life and don’t want anything from here anymore. Only thing I care about here is my friends and family.
bonsai@lemmy.dbzer0.comtoThe Expanse•The Expanse RPG's developers are 'humbled' by comparisons to BioWare's heyday, but don't expect it to be a straight Mass Effect clone: 'We make our story a little bit differently'English2·16 days agoI run a campaign! It is a lot of fun and I think my players are having a good time. Would 100% recommend playing/gamemastering :)

bonsai@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Privacy@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What People Think Privacy/Security IsEnglish11·18 days agoNot disagreeing with you, but it’s a double edged sword inherent to any privacy-focused system. Tor grants journalists and political dissidents access to the broader world anonymously, but is also used by darknet markets to sell CP and illicit drugs.
Privacy coins like monero allow people to spend money anonymously to purchase VPNs or prepaid phones without state actors knowing, but also enables money launderers to do what they do.
And of course there’s the pollution problem you mention with any proof of work cryptocurrency, but at least Monero’s is more efficient that Bitcoin.
Again not defending cryptocurrencies or discounting your thoughts just wanted to tack on to it.

I miss seeing these everywhere in the summer as a kid. Guess I just aged myself lol, but I did see some in the park last night. Nowhere near as many as years ago though.

Just hope I can go in one of the first nuclear blasts. And that it happens at 3am on a Monday so I don’t have to go to work.

For tailscale you gotta make an account, register devices, connect them. Feel like wireguard is about the same except you don’t have to make an account.
bonsai@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Selfhosted•Friendly reminder that Tailscale is VC-funded and driving towards IPOEnglish105·2 months agoI never really understood the point of using Tailscale over plain ol’ WireGuard. I mean I guess if youve got a dozen+ nodes but I feel like most laymens topologies won’t be complex beyond a regular old wireguard config
