Yeah I agree 100%- intel generations were giving us 10% here and there, Apple silicon updates are doing crazy insane speed bumps on all kinds of workloads without doubling power draw. Keep ‘em coming. My m3 max MacBook is probably the best computer I’ve ever owned, and this is coming from almost 4 decades of Macs, Power Macs, Powerbooks, MacBooks, etc. It’s a joy to use this thing every day, much more so than my i9 MacBook ever was.

  • I’m sure you’re right for some percentage of people, but most pro life, lib-owning pickup truck patriots really think they’re doing god’s work and saving the world from “toxic empathy”. The less extreme ones just think that whatever the bible says is good, so smite the gays, it’s fine, or even try to save them by praying all the gay away. And the poor uneducated Facebook grandmas are just controlled by fear, gullibility, and ignorance. They mean well, and are totally oblivious to how their actions and words (and votes) really hurt real people.

  • paying data labelers roughly one US cent for every task they finish, which can take hours. It’s a system Kanyugi compared to “modern slavery.

The article kinda ignores the fact that despite the horrible pay and work, it must be a much better job for these people than anything else they can get in their country because they continue to subject themselves to it. How bad are things when 1 or 2 pennies a day is the best that’s available? I don’t understand how you could live on < $1 a month in any country no matter how poor.

Edit: I’m not saying it’s ok, I’m in no way in support of it. You guys are reading me wrong.

I’m saying I genuinely don’t understand the math here.
