Looks cool! Does it really only take an hour to get through?

curled@lemm.eeto Mechanical Keyboards@programming.dev•How much did your current mechanical keyboard cost?1·5 months agoDefinitely large, over 60k employees. But honestly it shouldn’t really matter as, at least for me, it was basically a requirement for me to get any work done.
curled@lemm.eeto Mechanical Keyboards@programming.dev•How much did your current mechanical keyboard cost?3·5 months agoWell I already had gotten myself another ergonomic keyboard before (kyria v1) because my wrists would hurt when using a “normal” keyboard, and I didn’t want to drag it around all the time out of fear that it might break.
I set my eyes on the charybdis for the next build and realised that I would need it more in the office than at home so I asked whether it could be a business expense, and they approved so long as I could give them the receipts :).
curled@lemm.eeto Mechanical Keyboards@programming.dev•How much did your current mechanical keyboard cost?21·5 months agoAbout €500, but it’s a self built charybdis paid for by work :D

To be fair, this is the case for any service you don’t host yourself.
For Android users there’s Symfonium which I find really great
Military grade means literally nothing. Actual military equipment is “mil spec”, and not something the average consumer needs, or can afford, in most cases.
Even when military spec equipment is made by the lowest bidder, this stuff still has to be blast proof, bullet proof, work from -60°C to +85°C, be water/dust resistant, and many other requirements depending on what is being made.
I always enjoy your posts, Pug Jezus. Hope you’re having a nice day.

I’ve seen both Veritasium’s video and this much older one: https://youtu.be/6Hl7BLXq5vA and I honestly prefer the explanation of the older video.
I do appreciate the explained history, but I found the explanation on the maths more clear and to the point in the lecture video.
Sure, but exclusively focusing on housing as an indicator for how rich a generation is gives a skewed perspective. Gen Z isn’t implicitly richer for owning a home, as they were able to use the low interest rates during covid which made mortgages less of a burden. They also have more opportunities to work from home, which allows them to buy cheaper houses in less desired areas.
However, just owning a home doesn’t mean you can actually get by.
It’s somewhat telling that despite all of those advantages, the average age at which people buy their first home is at a record high.
Your link is paywalled. But I’ve also heard this before and the main reason for this is that we’ve changed how inflation is measured, among other things. I don’t like replying with a half-hour video link but coldfusion’s “why is gen z so poor” Video gives a good overview, also using the article you linked as a source in the video.

Yea you are? Sprinters or Crafters easily fit a stack of sheets, at least in the EU they do

Thanks for the info, I’ve been to teamlabs exhibits before and thought it would be kind of similar, but given how far away from me this is it might not be worth it.
