Always corruption with Republicans
You’re talking about absolutely massive companies who represent their own shared interests. And just by volume, they will produce an open source projects through engineering culture variation within a company itself.
And represent only a fractional part of the tech workforce and companies that don’t contribute back to open source.
I mean when you’re only here to call people names like a petulant child. Don’t expect good conversation.
I’d rather a place be filled with circle jerkers than assholes.
I’d rather not either, which is kind of why I came to Lemmy instead of being on Reddit. Perhaps you have found yourself lost?
Yes, some do, but it isn’t an incredibly small number given the quantity of companies that rely on open source technology.
ACAB is why
Kids have even less than empathy challenged adults.
It’s a recipe for disaster
Lol ovens like this existed.
My parents literally have one of them right now in their kitchen.
They are less than ideal for sure.
I mean, asking for others opinions is a pretty normal and social behavioral thing to do… No?
Things I like I find others tend not to, so if I’m making something to appeal to others and not myself, I ask what they like.
Ofc this example of a picture hung over a stove is… Asinine, but my point still stands in response to your statement.
I love that MasterCard is pushing this shit under the guise of “brand damaging” products.
Yet this whole fiasco is the most brand damage they could ask for.
They… Usually don’t.
Not a single company I’ve worked for actually makes FOSS contributions to the dependencies they rely upon.
Wait how does one set up that sort of thing with your phone?
Just imagine the slop.
I’m imagining functions that only exist to fix the incorrect output of other functions, God knows how deep.
This is the same kind of argument that you shouldn’t have to wear seat belts because just don’t crash, duh.
Why do we have traffic lights?? Just don’t hit each other, duh.
You shouldn’t need emergency shutoffs at gas stations, don’t have a fire stupid!
Hand rails on stairs? C’mon, just don’t trip.
Confirmarion dialog on deleting data? Well, just don’t click the wrong thing 🤦
And completely missed the entire problem of human error. Which is one of the only constants we can always rely upon in every situation in every industry everywhere.
Being ignorant of something this pervasive and uniform across all humanity is not an excuse.
In a well regulated economy where abuse potential is lower, there are lots of good reasons.
If I’m developing a ride share app, battery level would be handy for a few reasons off the top of my head:
Seems like a weird statement to say that you cannot understand why someone would like something that you don’t like?
I think you missed the point.
“No wipe poops” doesn’t mean you never wipe again. It means poop that leaves behind insignificant residue.
I periodicity have these, and it’s a joy. There’s definitely a dietary aspect to it, and moving that direction seems to be the point here.

Dude just stated how much of his free time he is willing to provide to others for free and put a line on what he is willing to commit.
And somehow this thread thinks that’s harsh or petty?
Is literally any person complaining about this guy setting reasonable boundaries paying him money to do this work?
Seriously, this thread is honestly vile and these people are a perfect example as to why this is happening.
How they are this blind to their own toxicity is beyond me
Literally nothing about their software should require a login.
It’s asinine
