  • People keep shouting printer like they can just do it like that. Printers are a whole different beast, likely needing a whole seperate team with a different type of engineers. A desktop, given the existing team, is perfectly reasonable.

Calling a product DOA because of soldered ram is just a braindead take. Also, just because the ram isn’t upgradable the whole desktop isn’t upgradable or repairable? Are you hearing yourself? Get a grip.

  • For good bed adhesion I think I have a couple pieces of advice:

    • Get a PEI bed if you don’t already have one. It makes a world of difference.
    • If that doesn’t stick well, consider getting something like this
    • Make damn sure your bed is level
    • Make sure the Z offset is properly set up
    • If you aren’t already, start by printing PLA, then move on to other filaments once that goes well.
    • Make sure you have proper temperatures for both the hot end and the bed. Normal values for PLA are 210-230 on the hotend and 50-60 on the bed.

  • Oh strange, a quick Google search doesn’t bring up much of anything either. With loads of people having Pi’s and presumably also having tried to limit the capabilities, you’d think someone else would’ve posted something about it. If it really bugs you, maybe try a fresh install of Raspbian Lite 64bit and see if things work? Otherwise I think it might just be a limitation of the Pi.
