Sorry I meant the Mastodon servers located in the EU and UK, not Mastodon as a whole.

Actually the EU has mandated “proper” age verification for pornographic sites in order to protect the children.
So it wouldn’t surprise me if it will extend eventually too other sites too.
I would not surprise me if eventualy Mastodon servers will have to do the same especially the Mastodon servers located in the EU and UK.
Considering that the Dutch were below average before the second world war, I think your hypothesis is wrong. I think they were just compensating for being tiny during that time.
On a more serious note, I just think the Dutch had zero scruples (inventors of modern capitalism and all).
They just didn’t care how many people they screwed over aslong as they could get one more Gulden in their pocket.
fenrasulfrto Technology•Windows seemingly lost 400 million users in the past three years — official Microsoft statements show hints of a shrinking user baseEnglish20·21 days agoAs much as I want to joke that it is the year of the Linux desktop, I think it is mostly because the younger you are the less likely you are to have a pc (so Windows, Mac, Linux and BSD for the dozens of you).
As far as I can see most of the time people use their phone for everything and only touch a pc for work or if they have a hobby that requires the use of a pc (gaming, digital art, music, programming, etc…).
Not that is nescessarily a problem if you know what you are getting into and willing too make the sacrifices to own such building.
I just hear about a lot of people that buy a 17th or 18th century farm or house for example and find out the are not even allowed to change to double pane glass because of it’s classification as monument.
The reason they are “cheap” to buy is all the maintenance cost indeed.
But not only that, they are also under what we call monumenten zorg in the netherlands, basically making it near impossible to make any big changes to the building. So for example you are not replace the original windows for ones with double glazing.
Owning a castle or any really old building in Europe sound more appealing than it really is.
The only thing it will do is turn off potential users because they either feel attacked for using a perfectly useable os or they do want want to be associated with the onmine culture around the os.
I am talking for handhelds which are treated as consoles so the underlying os or gui makes no difference. Unless it stops you from playing the game you like.
No one should tell you to leave an os if it works for you.
You are asuming they do physical work and aren’t just white collar.
I am more thinking of the Valorant, League, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc… players. Which are a majority of pc gamers.
Well according to information out there they did get permition to tweak Windows to make it much more sutible for gaming handhelds.
Everyone that is scared they can’t play the most popular online games on their handheld. So theoretically a massive demographic according to research (most pc gamers play older live service titles) done but whether they would want a gaming handheld is a different question.
Gateway 2000 with Windows 95. I do not know which specific configuration (I was too young). I do remember the games I had though: Tyrian 2000, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, C&C, HoM3, I-war, Flight Simulator 95, LBA 2 and Jersey Devil. Half of them were copies I got from a neighbour that owned a cd-r.
I do agree with you that work from home is nice. I am not commenting on that what I am commenting on is that according to her the best bit is total social isolation. Because the way she wrote the tweet implies she stays at home alone with no contact to the outside world.
That is not what I am saying, what I am referencing is her saying you can go days without human contact. Implying she doesn’t hangout with anyone.
As much as people act like they don’t need contact with other humans, it has been shown to be absolutely necessary for mental health and brain health.
