  • I’m working on my first read through of the entire Foundation series currently on Foundation’s Edge. I loved the original trilogy and thought the prequel was okay (I read the trilogy first and went back to the prequels). This series deserves all the praise I’ve read about it.

Is the show any good/worth a watch? I want to watch it after I finish Foundation and Earth. Even though I’m fairly certain I’m past what the show covers.

  • I’m currently reading The Stars, Like Dust. By Issac Asimov. Seems decent I haven’t been completely invested in the main character like I was in The Currents of Space (I know I read book 2 before book 1). But I like Asimov so I’ll finish it it’ll be a quick read anyways. I plan to finish the Galactic Empire series and then start Foundation (Finally!).

  • Currently I have Equal Rites, by Terry Pratchett on my night stand. Satire fantasy (I think). Quickly read the first two paragraphs but other than that haven’t started it yet. I enjoyed Color of Magic and Light Fantastic so looking forward to a new character lead to see how this plays out.

I listening to The Stars, Like Dust by Issac Asimov. It seems interesting about a son who’s dad was charged with treason against the galactic Empire. I’m not fully invested as I was with The Currents of Space. But I’ll see how the story pans out.

  • I’m currently working on two books. The first is Gunmetal Gods by Zamil Akhtar. The genre is Epic fantasy, it is very fast paced like break neck which is both good and bad. On one had something is always happening on the other I have no time to digest the content. I’d say it’s entertaining but wouldn’t say it’s amazing at the moment. If you like quick popcorn style books go ahead you may enjoy it.

The second book I’m listening to is Restaurant at the End of the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, genre is Scifi satire comedy. We’ve all heard about Hitchhiker’s and it’s sequels I’m just finally working through the books. I recommend it but the author’s humor seems jaded which is perfect for me lol.

  • This one is weird for me, I wasn’t drawn into this book as quick as Tress. The world wasn’t as interesting to me as some of his other works. It took me until chapter 28 to finally be invested in the characters (Early Yumi was a Karen imo, and I really don’t like her).

Early book I was only interested in Nikiro’s world the city in eternal darkowas really cool. It kind of puts a damper in my reading experience when 1/2 the pov’s take place in an uninteresting world (Yumi’s, for me was just meh).

I watched “Your Name” with my gf before I started Yumi and the whole time I was like this is a body swap like that. Pretty surprised about it being one of his inspirations I didn’t think Sando watched anime for some reason.

Overall, I give it a 2.5/5 it was okay worth a read for the Cosmere connections but I won’t reread it anytime soon if at all. Better than RoW and Lost Metal but weaker than Emperor’s Soul and Tress. Compared to the other secret projects it’s the middle book so far. Tress>Yumi>Wizard.

  • Just finished Robots and Empire by Issac Asimov. It is science fiction, I rated it as a 2.5. It’s the 4th and final book of the robot series. I am of the opinion that it is the weakest of that series although it does have one of the highest moments. The problem is it takes place 200 years after the last book and follows a different (Human) protagonist, however, Daniel and Giskard are still there. I say it is strong Asimov but it’s definitely different then the rest of the robot books imo.

I’m currently listening to Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson it is fantasy. I don’t want to spoil it but it seems interesting so far (only 20% through). I was drawn into Tress and the Emerald Sea more. But I’ll save my judgments until it’s done.

I am reading Gunmetal God’s, by Zamil Akhtar. It’s the first in his epic fantasy, I’m only ~25% through this so far. Because it’s supposed to be an epic fantasy and it’s inspired by Middle Eastern influences that I don’t fully understand I feel a little lost. But it seems fine so far will see if I continue this series after this book.

  • Edge of Darkness by Brent Weeks.

I just couldn’t finish it. Got to the point where Kylar got his hand back and was like okay I guess the story is over now? Felt really weird that there was still around 3/4 of a book left. I just couldn’t bring myself to keep reading after that.
