Yes, positioning against the alp is mentioned in the analysisa, however, that wouldn’t explain the numbers, as there are multiple other minor parties, if the voters felt that the big 2 did not meet their needs.

If we take the votes as endorsement of policy, then the voters are voting for greens first and overwhelmingly, labor second. It would seem the voters of the greens feel their policies are in line enough for alp to be their second choice, above other parties large and small.
If you think the voters are misinformed and votes are not an endorsement of policy, (at least best policy availabke to vote for) then there is not really a discussion to be had, outside of marketing and politicking.
I don’t see a rational explanation as to why that would be the case outside of the article proposing that it’s a positioning against lnp. However, even then it doesn’t explain it to the extent it occurs.

Yet they seem to share voters. So either the voters are all wrong or your being hyperbolic.

O think it’s not that they depend on each other but rather they are competing for some of the same voters. So, even more competitive than cooperative. However, that should only matter for elections. Clearly they should be more aligned when governing.
While in the background they are.picoring to other trade agreements and even china as a more reliable trade partner. That’s also complex as there is concern that china is cannibalizing the manufacturer market. They used to only be considered low end but are now able to reliably make middle and high end products. Some chinese brands are now premium brands.

What’s the meaning of the lit vs onlit candles? Is it just the third day of Honnukeh or is it some kind of recognition of the victims?

No, but your comment implies it would be higher, even if that wasn’t your intention.

If the demand increases enough, more factories will be built. Right?
Except most people think it’s a bubble, so won’t risk building and the cost to build factories that technical is so large that most big companies outsource it, never mind new entrants.
I suspect instead well move more towards a data on demand kind of thing. We don’t need the same thing stored in millions of copies worldwide. Cheaper connectivity and containerization should help, I’d think.
It will start with rarely used large files like isos, which are already pretty efficiently distributed but then move to more and more, like cdns do for web already.
I’m just hypothesizing…I’ve nothing to base it on, but it seems redundant to have so much duplication.

Whereas one could argue that the eu has the opposite problem. Too many parts and people with power but more opaque and hidden from the public. Some more centralization could help but too much is problematic.

While still having the time to tweet and argue with strangers online all the time.
Or, it’s all my fault.
Australia? My guess/ memory is that they earn more from advertising than the cost to maintain them. I think that’s more dystopian. An ageing technology is allowed to keep using public spaces to advertise of they frame it as a public good.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if she was the divisive grenade that blew up maga for good.

As an immigrant to Australia, who loves Eurovision from my past life in Europe, it’s actually pretty rational. There is a public broadcaster here, that has broadcasts for minority populations, called SBS. It has news broadcasts in Greek, Italian and other languages. It has European media. It is supposed to be an alternative voice but also to address the high immigrant population here that want news from home, going back to ww1. They have consistently broadcast Eurovision and only have been a competitor in recent years.

I would much prefer that rich artists have the capacity to make art and try to make money off it than all mass media be controlled by a few organisations. It’s a shame it wasn’t a humongous success. We might benefit from more artists and more investors taking risks.

Competition keeps prices down. Capitalism seeks to control a market to raise prices.

Paramount came late in the game for me. I never subscribed.
There is really no societal benefit in showing violence porn though. Everyone who is going to watch it already knows he’s dead. It’s not showing new hidden information.
I agree that censorship is generally bad, but sensationaliaed sharing of awful footage is also bad. Australia also bans love streams for other terrorist attacks to remove it as a propaganda tool. So, it’s not just Kirk, but a policy to reduce extremism.
