Did the greeks suggest any replacement?

I see electoralism weaknesses, but what other systems are less prone to power capture and then raw authoritarianism?

If people don’t choose their representation, then who does? Or is representation the flaw?

  • I listen a lot to Vlad Vexler. Vlad postulates that Putin has manipulated Trump’s narcissism so that Trump considers Putin an ideal source or narcissistic fullfilment. This leaves Trump in a positikn where internally he feels “wouldn’t it be nice if Vlad and I were not limited by this war, and then we could be these two tough guy friends.” Putin then uses this to get Trump to looks down on Zelensky (he’s not like us Donald), and then convinces Trump that Ukraine isn’t worth supporting.

This makes sense when tou see how Trump tries to show off to Putin, and insults Ukraine, especially for a few days after they talk.

Putin had convinced Trump that he is the kind of guy that Trump wishes he could be.

Add on top of that the idea that Trump doesn’t have the ability to play any long games, so he has no comprehensive strategy, and therefire is always acting in the moment.

Anyway - my point is that Tomahawks for Ukraine is not astrategic concept for Trump, it is a narcissistic attempt to support the winning team.

  • The EU has more ppl, but more importantly, they have spare industrial capacity - DE in particular has Ulverston high quality industrial capacity to spare.

You can’t really talk about wealth on this topic, and have to instead talk about economy - and of course the US has a monster economy. What the EU lacks is political cohesion around support for Ulraine.

We are not talking about what EU can spend on Ukraine, we have to talk about what they will spend. Does buying tomahawks make more sense than investing in the domestic Ukr military industrial capacity? The value of the spend on US weapons lower than the value of the development of domestic capacity (EU and/or Ukr); not considering any political capital gained with the Americans.
